How will the course benefit me?
Our?one-day Learn to Draw course offers you the chance to explore your creativity, discover different mediums and learn to capture a range of subjects in fun, relaxing and social?art classes.

What will I learn?
Working in pencil, charcoal and graphite you will capture a range of still-life objects, learning the fundamentals of proportion, light and shade, and simple perspective. During the course, you will get things started with warm-up exercises – we’ll start with some quick sketches, work with still-life set pieces, develop different techniques with different materials, basic perspective and proportions, explore the different qualities of pencil, charcoal and pastels, receive guidance and feedback.

Career Opportunities
Learners may wish to enrol on one of our other short courses such as Portrait Art, Enjoy Watercolours or an Introduction to Human Form to develop their skills. You may also wish to enrol on one of our longer courses: Art – Mixed Media Painting and Drawing to learn different techniques using a variety of materials and work at your own pace.

Entry Requirements
This course is perfect for anyone who hasn’t done any drawing at all, or for those who have done a little drawing but want a reminder of the basics.

Additional Material Cost
Learners will need to bring a selection of pencils: 2B - 4B or softer and their own putty rubber.

Health & Safety
It is important to have good eyesight, good concentration and reasonable manual dexterity for participation in the class. It is also important to be able to understand verbal instructions and to be comfortable using the art equipment, drawing boards, etc.

How will the course be delivered?
This one-day course will be delivered face to face in our Arts Studio. The tutor will perform practical demonstrations and give verbal instructions and feedback at various stages of the course. Learners will receive one-to-one support as well as opportunities for group discussions. Continuous guidance and help will be available to every learner.?
