How will the course benefit me?
Do you have a sewing machine at home and have never used it or would you like to learn how to use the sewing machine? Then this is the course for you. This course will benefit anyone who has not used a sewing machine before, or who has little knowledge of using a sewing machine and would like to build on those skills. You will gain basic skills of how to use the sewing machine and its functions.

What will I learn?
You will learn how to thread the sewing machine and wind the bobbin correctly, the different functions of the sewing machine and what they do, different foot attachments and why they are used, and which needle to use for specific fabrics. You will produce some basic sewing techniques as samples.

You will be given the opportunity to enrol on to the clothesmaking beginners course or one of our specialist one day courses.

Entry Requirements
There are no basic requirements, only the enthusiasm to learn. Learner will be required to take notes during the lesson. Reasonably good hand-eye coordination is also necessary. Please note: this course is not run as a workshop, and learners will be expected to follow the course programme and tutor set projects.
