More information about this Course

How will the course benefit me?
These workshops are designed for experienced jewellery learners who are able to work independently without instruction or guidance from a tutor. These workshops provide an opportunity for experienced jewellery learners to work on projects of their own choice at their own pace. Unlike a traditional course, you can come to the workshops as often or as infrequently as you choose. You can come for the whole workshop, or pop in for an hour or two – whatever suits you. The cost of workshop fee allows you access to our well-equipped studio and our facilities. You may wish to bring your own tools. Because there is no tuition, we are able to offer these workshops at a lower cost than a taught course. We carry a small stock of silver, copper and brass wire and sheet which may be bought in the workshop. Cash only please. Our jewellery technician will be available throughout the session.

Career Opportunities
Redbridge Institute offers jewellery-making courses on several different days and times. There will be information given by the technician as to what other options are available to you.??

Entry Requirements
The workshop is NOT suitable for beginners and only for those who have undertaken several jewellery courses and do not require advice, guidance or instruction on how to use our equipment and resources safely.

Additional Material Cost
We carry a small stock of silver, copper and brass wire and sheet which may be purchased in the workshop. Payment will be required on the day at the main reception desk either by cash or card.

Health & Safety
Learners must follow all health and safety guidelines. Appropriate clothing should be worn. Open shoes must NOT be worn. Hair, and anything loose, must be tied back at all times. Please ensure you wear an apron or old shirt in the workshop to avoid damage to clothing. All workshop equipment must be used with respect, according to the workshop rules. It is essential that you put away all tools and clear your work area.

How will the course be delivered?
The workshops will run on Wednesday mornings between 9.30am-12.30pm for 4 weeks. You can come to as many or as few workshops as you wish. You can drop in for an hour or two, or come to the whole workshop. There will be a technician available throughout the session.
