How will the course benefit me?
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at pottery but you’re not sure what to expect? This taster course is suitable for complete beginners who want to experience a pottery class and explore working with clay.

What will I learn?
You will explore one hand-building technique, either pinching, coiling or slab building.? You will learn to use the pottery wheel and basic throwing techniques will be taught. You will decorate your hand-built piece with slip and thrown pots will be decorated if time permits.

It is essential that you are able to stand, have good eyesight, good concentration and manual dexterity in using workshop equipment. You should be able to understand verbal instructions and safely use the workshop equipment.??

How will the course be delivered?
The tutor will perform practical demonstrations and give verbal instructions and feedback at various stages of the class. Learners will receive one-to-one support and engage in group discussions. Continuous guidance and help will be available to all learners.??
