Online course Children must be 5 years and over COVID-19 In order to ensure the safety of staff and learners the way we can provide courses in the Autumn Term has changed. See details below. There may be further changes if Government and Public Health advice changes. In these challenging times, the safety of learners and staff is our highest priority. We are therefore introducing a range of measures to protect every member of the community. These include strict limits on class sizes to ensure social distancing can be maintained within classrooms. There will also be additional procedures and limitations around the use of entrances and exits, corridors and other public areas.

How will the course benefit me?
This course is for parents, carers and grandparents of children in primary schools who want to educate and support their children’s learning and their children. This course will increase and improve your knowledge and understanding of how and what children learn in Science lessons at school in a fun and interesting way. Adults will learn the basic skills and knowledge that could inspire and enhance career prospects

What will I learn?
This course is designed for adults to learn with children. It gives a fun and interesting introduction to science, why things work the way they do, how we use science in our everyday lives and how we can have fun with science. This course is designed to introduce parents and children to science which links into the national curriculum in primary schools.

Entry Requirements
This course is designed for adults to learn with children You will need a basic level of English (Entry Level2). You must be able to commit to the full course with the intention of attending every session. Children must be 5 years or over Maximum of 2 children per adult. Children are the responsibility of the accompanying adult. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes.

Health & Safety
You will be expected to follow the social distancing arrangements in place for the safety of staff and learners. The safe use of computers is essential. This will be covered as part of course induction

How will the course be delivered?
Verbal instructions and explanations, demonstrations Interactive teaching, experiments, individual, pair and group work. Adults will be supporting their children’s learning
